The Stealth Force. Each of the top 5 seated officers is in charge of a certain division of the Special Forces. The Shinigami of this division are usually tasked with assassination, policing, detention, and message couriers.

The shinigami of this division serve mainly as the reinforcements for the other divisions when they are in need of help.

The medical/supply division. The shinigami of this division are responsible for both treating the injured and doing most of the manual labor, such as cleaning the Seireitei. These shinigami use their spiritual power to heal and can cooperate and apply fast relief when casualties break out.

The Kido Force. Shinigami of this division generally excel in the art of kido.

The shinigami of this division handle internal affairs. They are the law enforcers.

The Execution Squad. The shinigami of this division are tasked with executing rogue shinigami and other pests.

The Retrieval Squad. The shinigami of this division usually receive orders to bring people in, alive, not dead. As well as other things of value that need to be retrieved.

Information Dissemination. The shinigami of this division are in charge of the Seireitei news magazine. All of the lieutenants of the divisions of Gotei 13 hand in their reports to them. These shinigami are in charge of investigation as well.

The Vanguard Squad. The shinigami of this division serve as the main guards of the Seireitei.

The Primary Combat Force of the Gotei 13. The shinigami of this division focus entirely on fighting and don't use any kido. They say that to be a true member of this division, a shinigami's zanpakuto needs to be a melee type.

The Research and Development Division. Technological and scientific research has become the full measure of what the division involves itself in primarily. Shinigami of this division are tasked with research and collection of data and samples.
