The Academy is a multiple story building with an open courtyard, many class rooms, dormitories, and practice areas for Zanjutsu, Hakuda, Hohō, and Kidō. The commandment all Shinigami are taught at the Academy is "Do not seek beauty in battle. Do not seek virtue in death. Do not make the mistake of considering only your own life. If you wish to protect that which you must protect... ...slice the enemy you must defeat from behind."

Located at the center of the Seireitei, Sōkyoku Hill is a large, rocky mesa where executions take place. It is visible from most of the Seireitei. There are two known access points to the Sōkyoku Hill, the first is a long bridge connecting to the Shrine of Penitence complex and the second is a long, zigzagging stairway carved into one side of the Hill. One end of the Hill is heavily undercut. It is at this point that the Sōkyoku and the bridge are located. The opposite end is covered by white forest.

Central 46 serves as a supreme judiciary and legislative that is second only to the royal family. The shinigami implement order in Soul Society as a sort of executive and military branch. All of the above, demurral the royal family and guard, reside in Seireitei. No one is permitted in these chambers save for the members of the central 46.
