Raines is very different outwardly and innerly from other creatures of her species. The rather young Arrancar can be seen wearing clothing she has collected from the human world during her numerous trips there. She is drawn to the color of blue, coincidentally coinciding with her attraction to rain. Raines wears a fluffy blue hat which hides most of her long blonde hair that can cascade down her back. Next up is the blue and black top she wears that has a white color and red tie. Over her top, Raines wears a blue poncho like coat that reaches just a bit past her hips. Raines wears long black stockings and a pair of blue and white boots with golden embellishments.

Physically, Raines is very thin, weighing in at 110lbs and is only 5'6" tall. Her Hollow hole is located in her stomach which is hidden by her clothing. Also, her Hollow mask remnants are now simply a pair of earrings that dangle from her ears. On the left is a white bone washed crescent moon earring while the right has a white bone washed sun earring. The young Arrancar adorns long blonde hair typically hidden away in her hat with a pair of green eyes. Her bust size isn't exactly large which contributes to others often mistaking her as a young boy at times.

Raines keeps to herself often and is a quiet individual. She is one of the more kind and caring Arrancar, disliking fighting. Being very modest in her own abilities and powers, Raines only fights when she has to. Her nature is not to be aggressive at all and can become confused when someone else threatens her without any reason. While in battle, Raines rarely ever deals a killing blow to an opponent unless they don't back down. As much as it is to her dismay, she will kill if necessary.

The young Arrancar also shows much dignity and honor in combat, refusing to attack someone who is defenseless. This nature can attribute to how she can safely observe other worlds. Raines is often seen in the human world, simply observing humans and taking on adventures herself. She still does not understand herself why everyone must be mortal enemies, however lives with the fact that death is over her shoulder at all times. None the less, Raines is naive at times and has a weakness for children.

ARRANCAR TECHNIQUES;

• Cero - Raines' Cero color is unique in the fact that the color changes depending on her emotional mood. Typically her Cero is a mellow shade of blue, signifying her calm and compassionate nature. Other shades include red for anger and yellow for confusion. Raines simply needs to point with her hands in the shape of a gun to fire her Cero.
  
  
• Gran Rey Cero - Raines' Gran Rey Cero is always shown as her emotional blue that characterizes her the best. To fire her Gran Rey Cero, Raines must use both of her hands to form the shape of a gun to fire it.
  
  
• Hierro - Raines' Hierro isn't as strong as other Lanza, however can still block released Zanpakutou without too much trouble. Raines' real defensive capabilities come with her Sonido skills.
  
  
• Pesquisa - Raines' perception of where a nearby body is nearly unmatched. She can easily track other Sonido or Shinigami Shunpo with typical ease and react accordingly.
  
  
• Sonido - Despite Raines' moderate Hierro, her Sonido is nearly unparalleled to most other Arrancar. Raines can easily react and move in time to avoid an attack and setup a counter of her own. Her Sonido is quick enough to create after images, creating an illusion of where she may launch her next attack.
  

ZANPAKUTO;

HAKUMEI [Twilight]
Hakumei appears as twin Tantō daggers with the length of 1 foot each. The two are distinct from each other in the fact that one has a white handle wrapping and the other has a black handle wrapping.

• Release Phrase: "Beginning of Dawn, End of Dusk"
  
  
• Resurrección Appearance: Unlike many other Arrancar, Raines hardly changes appearance after uttering her release phrase. Her weapons go under a dramatic transformation into twin pistols with long silver rectangular barrels and bodies. Her neck gains a necklace of stars linked together from remnants of her previous Hollow form. White shoulder pads of a sun and moon materialize. The last most prominant change in appearance is the addition of two long white fluttering half skirts that drape her body from the waist down. Raines maintains a very humanoid appearance even after releasing her Zanpakutou.
  
  
• Resurrección Abilities:
  
  
• Twin Pistols - Raines' twin pistols fire Cero from them. Cero fired while in released form are much stronger than those fired in non released form. Raines' pistols may fire as quickly as she wishes. The longer she holds the trigger, the more powerful the shot. The quicker the trigger is pulled the less powerful the shot, however more can be fired in this fashion. Raines' doesn't stand back and fire her ranged weapons. She prefers to engage in closer ranged combat if the advantage of range isn't overwhelming to her opponent. She performs complex maneuvers that look almost like a dance routine to parry, dodge, and attack her opponent with her twin pistols at close range.
  
  
• Dawn Cero- The Dawn Cero are fired from the pistol held in her right hand. The Cero fired from this pistol glow orange and have the power to ignite what they come in contact with.
  
  
• Dusk Cero- The Dusk Cero are fired from the pistol held in her left hand. The Cero fired from this pistol glow an icy blue and have the power to freeze what they come in contact with for a short period of time.
  
  
• Piercing Twilight - Her twin pistols may combine together to form a rifle which she named the Valkyrie Lance. This is Raines' ultimate attack. The Valkyrie Lance can fire a specially concentrated Gran Rey Cero that can reach from miles away. The distance of this attack can reach up to 10 miles away and travels nearly instantly to it's target. The power of this weapon has the ability to literally pierce through multiple enemies no matter how thick their armor or spiritual pressure may be; however there are only a few that can successfully survive the attack. The weapon's Gran Rey Cero is precise and can critically wound key organs and vital areas of an opponent. The concentrated Gran Rey Cero beam itself is no larger than two inches in diameter. Given the power and great effort it takes to use this form and attack, Raines may only use this three times before collapsing from exhaustion.

WHAT ABOUT THE PAST?;

Darkness...darkness...darkness. That was all the lonely little Hollow knew. Her world was filled with no drive except instinct to survive. To survive meant to gain strength. To gain strength meant to kill and devour others. So that was her goal. Unlike many of her other cousins in her species, she bore a humanoid appearance unlike many. The young Hollow always questioned this herself, however never knew the meaning. She never knew the meaning until only years later. She had devoured nearly every being near her and yet she still wandered the desert alone.

The vast expanse never seemed to end until one day the sand beneath her very body sucked her down. Was this the end? Even in the suffocating sand, Raines fell into a cold and dark metal room. It had all been a test, an experiment, a trial. She was the product of an experimental Hollow type that could evolve on it's own. Develop on it's own. Become an Arrancar on it's own much faster than other Hollows. She was created by someone who she only could hear in the isolated room.

The words echoed in her mind every day. 'You are nothing'. 'You are my pet project'. 'You are a failure'. Raines wanted to drown out the horrible words, however she couldn't. It was by chance that one day a terrible storm had brewed. Despite the underground facility being nearly impenetrable, the storm had caused the sand above to slowly cascade down into the secret lab. The heavy sand crushed the lab's environmental controls, creating an opening for the young Raines to escape.

During the rare occurrence in Hueco Mundo, Raines slipped away, never to hear that dreadful voice ever ago. Whether she knew her creator's fate was none of her concern. The sound of water dropping down from the sky and pooling up calmed the shaking Hollow's nerves. Even with the past amount of anxiety, Raines felt at peace for once as she simply watched the sky as the rain sprinkled down her face. She wandered the real desert, continuing what her instincts had taught her to do in order to survive. Seconds turned into hours, minutes turned into days, hours turned into years. Raines was preyed often due to her humanoid appearance and figure. She hardly looked like a hollow and was merely clothed in rags.

The only signifying marks of her Hollow self were that of the bone white armor that covered her shoulders and chest. Years passed as Raines continued to devour others for the sake of staying alive and out of trouble. It almost made her sick, however it was something that needed to be done in order to continue on. There was a drive to keep living deep inside of her, however she couldn't quite understand it. In reality, she couldn't understand a lot of what her mind thought about. It was all so confusing.

It was years before she was offered something beyond her control. The power to become an Arrancar from a mysterious individual whom she did not comprehend herself. The mere thing that drew her to this power was the fact that she could continue to live and learn about everything. The world held much in store for her and Raines found the human world the most comforting.
